We’ve covered a bunch of different ways to keep your spine healthy this month. But we are nowhere near done! (I told you that you’d want to take notes.)

So grab a colorful pen and your favorite notebook and write down these simple tips for a healthier spine. (You may or may not be quizzed on this.)

Posture – Sit and stand up straight, and avoid slouching. (Yes, we’re calling you out!) When sitting at a computer, maintain an ergonomic position.

Lifting – You’ve probably heard ‘Lift with the legs and NOT with the back.’ Well, they’re right. Bend those knees and keep your back straight.

Sleeping – Sleep on your back or your side on a good mattress. (Hanging upside down like a bat when sleeping is not recommended.)

Shoes – Wear well-made, supportive shoes with good soles and adequate cushioning.

Hydration – DRINK WATER! (Iced coffee doesn’t count. Sorry.)

Balanced Carrying – Carry heavy items in a balanced manner. (Extra important for kiddos with backpacks!)

Take Breaks – Take breaks from long periods of sitting or standing. It helps to prevent getting stiff and sore.

AND…

Avoid anything that includes “Hey guys, watch this!” In the event an unwanted outcome happens because of that, we’re here to fix you up!
