Sitting is pretty common practice. You put your hind end in a chair and well, sit. Right? There’s more to it than just that. You have to make sure you’re sitting properly!
First, you need to keep your feet on the floor or on a footrest (if they don’t reach the floor).
Don’t cross your legs! Your ankles should always be in front of your knees.
Your knees should be at or below the level of your hips.
Adjust the back rest of your chair to support your lower, and middle, back or use a best support.
Relax your shoulders and keep your forearms parallel to the ground.
Avoid sitting in the same position for long periods of time. (You know what that means right? Dance breaks!)
Keep these things in mind, and your back will certainly thank you!
